Hehe ...
Depends on what you mean by 1600
Here, most of us are WET time (Western European) if I am rigth (GMT + 1) ... but some of our US friends must be GMT +6 to GMT + 9 ...
So, the best way is to spek either in UMT, GMT, Eastern Time, Western time, or Central time ... Damn tough to get it right ...

=========
PST (Pacific Standard Time; ex. California, British Columbia) = GMT - 8
MST (Mountain Standard Time; ex. Colorado, Alberta ) = GMT - 7
CST (Central St. Time; ex. Kansas??, Saskatchewan) = GMT - 6
EST (Easter St. Time; ex. New York, Quebec) = GMT - 5
Let's say we meet at 4pm - 8pm (as proposed). In referece to what time? Let's say EST.
UK (Great Britain)
============
GMT (Greenwich Mean Time; ex. UK) = GMT
Then it would still be 9pm - 1am here.
Western Europe (France, Germany, Spain, Italy...etc, etc....oh NOT Belgium...hehe, just kidding)
=======================================================
CET (Central European Time) = GMT + 1
Then it would still be 10pm - 2am here.
Actually I jsut realised that if it's on the weekend, it might actually be possible ;-)

Hmmmm ...
What is the config to connect ?
I mean I have the server set to irc.entethegame.com, port to 6667 and group to #podheadz, but I always get the connection refused message ...
Well maybe the derf pseudo is already taken ... but the error message is not so clear then ...

Now I have to set all my clocks to those times...
I should have known that this was not going to be easy.
When I used to chat with some French Poddies on ICQ, 1600hrs was always understood as 10pm your local time.
I thought I was addressing to the French Poddies...My mistake I guess.
I POnDer ....Is this a French forum?...Frenchglish?....or .........
just a silly dream?
Just in case I'm not dreaming, ......USA Eastern time
I'm not sure to understand what you mean by that, but :I POnDer ....Is this a French forum?...Frenchglish?....or .........

Just in case I'm not dreaming, ......USA Eastern time
- at the beginning ,it was a french forum
- since the only european players are french or german (or french living in germany ), the forum tends to become a franco-deutsch forum.
- in the end, it doesn't matter because speaking of time, gemany and france are the same ...
- I don't understand at all 1600hrs or 2000hrs ... :-) for me it it juste a huge amount of time ... 16h00 and 20h00 ?
Voila.
Yes!!!! that 's it 16h00-20h00 or..........10pm-2am Franco-Deutsch timeDfg a écrit :I don't understand at all 1600hrs or 2000hrs ... :-) for me it it juste a huge amount of time ... 16h00 and 20h00 ?

in the US army ...
ok ... happy to learn that ...
sixteen hundred hours ... I should watch top gun again
sixteen hundred hours ... I should watch top gun again
Well Top Gun is the Air Force (or Fligh section of the Navy) and you don't hear it in those movies that often ;-) But movies about Marines have it all the time. You'll usually here them referring to a time in the morning. So that 8am - 8h00 turns into 0800 "Oh 800 hours" (pronounce 'Oh' like the letter 'O') hehe
I am still waiting for a response from anyone that wants to play POD.
I know the hours are not good for all of you, but I can play a little earlier on sundays: 12h00 EST
Anyone still interested, can e-mail me or post.
If I don't find anyone to play with, I guess I'll just keep on POnDering again...
May POD be with you..

Same here ...
Anyway, I still have problem, and I think I first should completely re-install my Win98 PC ... I cannot connect to the internet anymore ... and it seems like re-installing the ADSL modem does not fix the problem
I should do it as soon as possible since I haven't tried new POD tracks because of this (and lack of time ... of course )

I'm ok...
I usually come back home around 6 pm GMT +1
And I usually see my girl around 9pm...but not everyday so I should be able to free myself for a Pod session in those time-tables...
Freddy start ICQ when you wanna play !

Race on IO
Stardate: September 22, 2004
Captain's Log: There are rumors that a "Portal" where Poddies can transport themselves to some tracks on planet IO, could be open for a limited time. Need some daring racers who are willing to take their favorite cars for a spin and hopefully re-live some POD memories of the past.
Time: 18:00 hrs. USA EST
Method: IP Portal (must know access code)
Access Code: 68.194.114.162 (Bandie for logistic reasons needs this code)
